The Mooresville Downtown Commission (MDC) announced a contribution of $11,500 to local non-profit organization Mooresville Arts. The donation was made possible by proceeds raised at the last three Uncorked & Artsy events, a flagship event in downtown Mooresville, and ranks as MDC’s largest donation to date thanks to excellent turnout at each of the recent events.

Kim Saragoni, MDC Board Chair, Megan Morrow, Board Secretary, and Mark Fowler, Board Member, presented the check to Jessica DeHart, Past President of Mooresville Arts and Chair of the gallery, and Brenda Kadlecik, Mooresville Arts Board Member and Development Chair.

“On behalf of the Mooresville Arts Board of Directors, we are extremely grateful for the continued partnership with the Mooresville Downtown Commission. This generous gift represents Uncorked & Artsy’s continued growth and commitment to the community,” DeHart said.

Saragoni added, “The MDC is always happy to partner and support Mooresville Arts. Together we make a great team and both entities have common goals to introduce more and more people to downtown Mooresville, giving them multiple reasons to come back.

The MDC has partnered with Mooresville Arts on Uncorked & Artsy since the event’s inception in 2017, with a total of over $18,000 generated to help support the organization’s efforts and projects. Hand. The next event is scheduled for September 30 with online ticket sales beginning mid-September through the downtown Mooresville website and proceeds will again benefit Mooresville Arts.

Uncorked & Artsy isn’t the only signature MDC event that benefits local nonprofits. Earlier this month, the MDC donated $4,500 to FeedNC, made possible through proceeds from the 2022 St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Pub Crawl, and the Mooresville Wiener Run, which takes place every fall , contributes to the product of Lake Norman Humane.
