CM distributes the FOCUS+ family allowance to more than 1,200 beneficiary households


Commemorating the 75th birth anniversary of the late Lok Sabha President PA Sangma, Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma clicked direct benefits transferred to more than 1,200 households under the new FOCUS+ scheme, which aims to provide benefits to every farm household in the state Thursday.

The government of Meghalaya on this momentous day has disbursed funds amounting to Rs. 32.30 Lakhs under FOCUS Farmers Welfare Scheme and Rs. 12.69 Lakhs under FOCUS+ Benefit Scheme for the benefit of nearly two thousand farmers.

Also, funds totaling Rs.11.60 Lakhs have been distributed to 23 groups under the YESS Meghalaya Youth Empowerment Scheme. YESS is a program launched to nurture youth by empowering youth organizations working for social welfare and sports.

Under the PROGRESS program for the rural piggery, 76 piglets were distributed to pig farmers based in the East Garo Hills district. PROGRESS will benefit 10,000 farmers and improve the economic conditions of farming households in Meghalaya.
