AJK PM announces Rs 400m flour subsidy during Ramazan – Newspaper


MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi on Thursday announced a subsidy of Rs 400 on the price of 40 kg of wheat flour in Ramazan.

He made the announcement during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected members of Central Press Club Muzaffarabad, saying the grant would cost the state treasury about Rs 560 million.

Mr. Niazi said he believes in serving his people, which is why he ordered the relevant officials to do their job in providing wheat flour subsidies to the people of the state.

In the same context, he specified that the government would deal “with an iron fist” with the hoarders and the profiteers.

“Hoarding, profiteering and illegal subsidy advantage would not be tolerated at any cost,” he said.

He said he ordered the administration in all districts to enforce the tariffs set by the relevant committees.

On the Kashmir issue, he said the efforts were the top priority of the liberation movement base camp government [AJK].

“Whatever our political affiliations and ideologies, fortunately, we are united around our national cause. And this has been demonstrated by the leaders at every opportunity,” he said, and expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Kashmir for the recent rallies held jointly to draw attention to the unresolved issue of Kashmir.

“Rest assured, we will spare no effort to fulfill our responsibilities regarding the heroic struggle waged by our brothers through the bloody division,” he said.

The AJK premier also appreciated the role of the press club in the freedom movement through division and the development and progress of the AJK.

“After the decision of the Government of India on August 5, 2019, the role and responsibilities of journalists in the liberated territory have multiplied and I am sure that they will meet the expectations with more zeal and enthusiasm,” he said. he declares.

Mr. Niazi paid tribute to the community of journalists in occupied Kashmir, facing relentless repression by the Indian authorities.
